I was told today (January 23, 2019) that Management at the Ashland, KY Belk store were notified last night that the store is closing.

Is this store about to close? I was there few days ago and it seems they've closed the entire upper floor, and the rest of the store doesn't look appealing at all.

half the store is blocked off, inventory is terrible and the store smells moldy. i cannot shop there. the doors to the mall are never fully open-even in the middle of the day.

Is it REALLY true that the company said they wouldn't close stores or even lay off people?

Which Belk stores are closing this year? It would be nice to know before they closed my favorite store right under my nose.

Belk announced that they will enter bankruptcy recently. With the way their stores have been barely managing lately I had a suspicion something like this might happen. BTW, they didn't say they will be closing stores during this period.
