Books-A-Million shuttered in Casselberry some time ago. It's worrying to see so many bookstores going dark in these past few years.

Worrying about the state of BAM lately. I'm fearing that more bookstores will close. And that in the end only couple of them will be left

What went wrong? I thought people liked this bookstore.

What a godda-n waste. Bookstores are pillars of civilized societies. When one closes, what does that say about our society?

BAM had such a lovely store on 22000 Town Center Avenue. I don't understand why they closed down. Does anyone know why it closed?

Does anyone else have a fear that Books-A-Million in Corbin will close sometime soon? The inside of the store looks so threadbare, like it's gonna shutter any minute. I hope this won't happen... we need our bookstores.

Each time a bookstore closes my heart breaks a tiny bit. It's time we support our bookstores financially. We can't let them close like it's just another retail store. They aren't. They are special and should be cherished.

The store didn't stand a chance so it's not shocking that it ended up closing eventually. Seeing bookstores close is just incredibly sad.

Just noticed last week that Bam had closed, but sign in its place said Hatbor Freight coming soon. What makes this totally bizarre is that it is directing IN FRONT of Home Depot!

This was one of the last booksellers in the Loop. I haven't been there in ages so I wonder (and hope!) that a couple of new bookstores have opened up. It's shameful if the neighborhood has no more bookstores left.

Not sure what changed but Books-A-Million just isn't the same anymore. Whenever I hear them closing a store I get a pang of sadness that quickly fades away and then I just shrug. How depressing.

I wouldn't like it when Books-A-Million doesn't exist at all.

Visited the BAM store in Alexandria, LA today (2020-11-16)and it was closed. The sign said it was closed due to the storm. It appeared that much of the merchandise at least in the front of the store was gone. Is this store closed permanently?

It looks like Books-A-Million couldn't compete with Amazon and its ilk. The store will be shuttering for good in January, though the exact date isn't revealed as of yet. The Town Square North store in Owensboro is well beloved. It is by me at least. — read more

I am always so devastated and enraged to see a bookstore shutter. It makes me feel so depressed, I hate when that happens. This Books A Million has shuttered some time ago and I still feel strongly about it. Didn't need to happen.

I'm sooo sad now, I had no inkling that they have closed in Charlotte!!! When did this Books-A-Million close??? Anybody know??? I got my favorite Percy Jackson book (Lightning Thief) from this store...

They closed because, according to an employee, the rent for the space doubled and the company refused to renew the lease. This is the last Books-A-Million in the Virginia Beach area and it will close next month on July 10th. Sad, but at least we... — read more
