The phrase "will close at least xxx stores" is an old trick in the retail business. It is intentionally leaked to a reporter by the advisors so that the company can go to the landlord base and use that as leverage to cram down rents once the bankruptcy is filed.
Problem is, the landlords have seen this movie before. Rerun.
