I overheard a guy say that some unprofitable locations will be gone before spring next year. It's only hearsay and I'm not sure if it's true. Did anyone else hear something similar or did I perhaps misunderstood what he was saying?

Gap Inc stated they would close nearly 200 Gap/Banana Republics back in 2017. Banana Republic has had only 1-2 positive quarter(s) in the past 16 quarters. Expect closing to occur based on store size and lease endings, (Smaller stores always get the boot first) rather than performance.
I don't think that's true, but I could be wrong. Retail is in a strange place right now, anything could happen.
