Thread regarding IGA Supermarket in Copiague

What will replace IGA

Numerous senior's shop at this IGA store because it is local to their senior condos. My parents are very upset.
Is another food supermarket going to replace IGA?
So sad for everyone upset by this closing.

Does anyone know if there is a corporate phone number to make contact with someone from copiague store that was closed. I have quite a few gift cards purchased before they closed (without notice) through my daughters school that I never was able to use. Needless to say not so happy with IGA. Any help or quidance is appreciated.

This store was a hills . It used to be the busiest. The company (korvettes,Pueblo and pantry pride) went out of business in the late 70s.

I find the heath department closing them hard to believe. something went down hill fast. The store was always well run. After Sandy Storm in 2012, the owner was being Q'd by IGA to invest in remodeling the store. The owner did not want to close due to lost business. I hate large stores so this is bad for me. This was always a busy store. IGA should get involved and recover.

Don't know why it closed but I wouldn't be surprised if the health dept did close them. It was very dirty, refrigeration inadequate. Any news of replacement?

I'm upset too. No signs, no notice, just gone. How rude! I hope another supermarket comes in quick and is just as good or better!
