I'd bet that Greenville JCP will be closed:
The JCPenney store at the Greenville Mall is among those on a list of locations likely to close in 2017 following a corporate announcement that the company will close between 130 and 140 of its physical retail locations nationwide.
A list of stores “at risk” for closing published last week by a Cleveland news organization included the Greenville Mall among two North Carolina retail locations. The other is at Windsor Square in Matthews.
JCPenney corporate spokesman Joseph D. Thomas on Monday told The Daily Reflector that the company will issue its official list of closing locations in mid-March.
“As part of our continuing effort to advance sustainable growth and long-term profitability, JCPenney will be closing 130 to 140 stores, one supply chain facility and relocating one supply chain facility to align our physical store footprint and omnichannel network,” Thomas said. “The company is also implementing a voluntary early retirement program incentive for approximately 6,000 eligible associates.”
