RadioShack to Close All Stores, Declare Bankruptcy (March 2017)

General Wireless Operations (GWO) - Sprint/RadioShack Joint Venture will likely file for bankruptcy very soon. If this goes through, the company is over, it'll be liquidated.

The remaining stores and outlets in Sprint stores will be closed. Right now, over 4000 stores have been closed, so more will be closed soon. There are about 1500 RadioShack stores within Sprint stores right now, do the math, we are talking a lot of jobs being lost here - keep in mind that they published jobless claims today, we are at 44 year low right now - so, RadioShack is kind of an anomaly here.

we were told they are trying to gain capital with this clearance mode. and if funds arr there they will be able to maintain only 600 to 900 locations. Plus, Standard General will be backing, while General wireless does file on debt. We will be restructuring, if all goes to plan. Sprint pulled out, thus we were not able to maintain all those leases, since Sprint was paying the rents. The ORIGINAL bankruptcy had a list of locations that were Sprint owned and those owned by General Wireless. These two companies are not foolish, this was their plan B. However, just like Nextel and Sprint; Sprint took what they came for and See Yah Later. Corporate America can be so Cruel!
