They have no dealers, they own stores and sell cars in stores. This was fine when they handled the model S only but now things are to get out of control. We'll see what 2017 brings for Tesla Motors stores and how much they expand this year. I doubt they will closing any locations any time soon.
Look at the demand, and look how well organized Tesla Motors is. So, it should be obvious that no closures will be taking place.
