There is a big evolution going on that won't simply end with the death of stores like JC Penney. It seems like there will always need to be a place to go look at the object.
Touch it, see it, hear it, try it on. I am a big Amazon shopper, but I can only do that, for the most part, because there are stores to go see the products at. With all the stores closed, the only other way to see a thing is if a friend has it. But, they aren't going to own several brands of the same thing.
There are some things that don't require me to see them, like, batteries, vacuum bags, etc., but for many things I want to see it in person before I buy. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out.
