Thread regarding ShopKo in Meridian

It's all over now

They are closing the Meridan store, it's 20 years old.

Shopko, the discount store chain, has decided to close down its Meridian store.
The retailer opened the 105,000 square foot store in 1999 in the Meridian Crossroads center. After it opened, it saw a new Walmart open adjacent to the same shopping center.

The Meridian store was the Boise-area's third - and is newer than locations at Fairview and Milwaukee and on Broadway.

The store was the retailer's prototype for its "Beyond 2000" store concept, which featured a new merchandising strategy and layout.

Now that we're beyond 2000... the store is closing.

The shutdown will leave the two Boise stores, a Nampa location and a large distribution center south of I-84. The other locations will not be closing, for now.
