This B&N survived but in Irvine, we have many stores (e.g., Macy's) that will be closing or that have closed. I hope that Barns and Noble survives as books are important. However, some retailers will continue to struggle as more and more commerce is being moved onto the internet. I am surprised that we do not have more stores closing, maybe 2017 will be worse than 2016 as it relates to shutting down retail outfits.
