I can't gloat since folks probably lost their jobs over the 830 North Michigan Avenue closing but I'm still privately smiling to myself because I know why Ghirardelli closed and how they could have prevented it.
The store was badly managed. It was great, like every Ghirardelli store is, but it was in almost constant chaos. I told this to everyone who was kind enough to humor me and listen. I even told the same thing to some of the employees! I made a few critiques and I even gave advice but it all fell on deaf ears. Maybe if they listened the store wouldn't have closed a few months ago.
