I am so sorry to hear that this location is closing and we really need this Staples store in our neighborhood. We have lost so many great retail stores since last year and there are so many empty retail spaces in our town. I wish Staples wood reconsider opening a store in another Edgewater, NJ location. There are spaces available in City Place and the Town Center.

That may be so, however..
For the last few years I've been disappointed with almost everything about this store. It was always dirty, disheveled and they had limited stock. Can't even tell you how many times a grabbed a hard drive case off the shelf only to be told it wasn't in stock. Then told just to order it online.
Even had a few discussions with various employees that if they didn't get their act together this store would not survive. It all fell on deaf ears.
What would work in this location? Move the pancake house that is causing havoc on River Road to this location or open up a competing restaurant. Shouldn't be difficult to do a better job then the Brownstone Pancake House. Another smart move would be for Fitness Factory to move into the space. Currently their location is not ideal.
Its a shame. I blame the customers. Not all, but a majority. I work at Staples, and everyday customers rip us off blind. From the 1000's of dollars in shrink, to
the unrelenting Karens. Consumers not being responsible for thier purchases, demanding discounts because a tag is wrong, buy the wrong ink and opening it.
In print and marketing a guy needed a huge job same day. I heard the PMS sup say there will be an express charge. Next day corporate called that the guy claimed no one tild him about the express and we needed to refund 200.00 bucks.
Consumers are the worst ever and play a huge role in Staples demise, both finacially and buy mentally ki----g staff.
