Long Beach has been imposing a so-called hero pay for certain grocery store workers. It would raise the pay by $4 per hour. I thought that was a sensible decision but Kroger doesn't seem to agree as both Ralphs at 3380 N Los Coyotes Diagonal and the Food 4 Less at 2185 E South St are going to close on April 17 because of it allegedly.
