I just loved the Banana Republic on 28 Newbury Street. It was one of my most beloved stores in Boston - which says quite a lot. I'm curious why they closed though. I always believed that they did well for themselves at that spot.

The Copley Place Store was less than 1 mile from the Newbury St. store. The rent and labor costs for it were probably far greater than what it made in sales.
