Rite Aid in Goose Hill will shutter and - get this - it will most likely be replaced as a Dollar General store. That's the last thing Schenectady needs, for real. We need less dollar stores. That Rite Aid shuttering is unnecessary as well.

Some sobering news: the Rite Aid Distribution Center in Spartanburg County in SC - that employed more than 600 workers by the way - will be closing. I'm sure that those 600 employees will be laid off. Wish them good luck.

The news is that a Rite Aid in midtown Sacramento will close permanently next month.

Five more Rite Aids are closing, all of them in Charlotte. The stores being closed are located at 9835 Monroe Road, 4220 N. Tryon Street, 6824 Harrisburg Road, 7611 Pineville Matthews Road and 3250 Freedom Drive.

And it looks like they come in threes now - another set of three Rite Aid stores is closing. Two are in Jacksonville, NC and one is in Morehead City, NC. I wonder which three will be announced tomorrow.

Some more news on closing stores. Three more have been announced for the following two months. Flowery Branch, Gainesville and Oakwood Rite Aids will soon be no more.

The one on State street will close on June 11 while the one on Arsenal street will close a week later. I guess no store is safe until Walgreens has is 600 closures promised when acquiring Rite Aid.

If anything I think this rite aid should close as there is a Safeway across the street a 7 eleven convenience store and two Walgreens on either side. During this merger both companies should consider the closing of this store.
