I saw a suggestion/rumor that the third floor of the Nordstrom at Galleria Dallas is pretty empty. Can anyone confirm or clarify what is going on there? Galleria Dallas in general seems to be struggling...

When Nordstrom said that they would make adjustments to their business model I didn't imagine them closing stores permanently... this is so very distressing. Sixteen of their stores will be closed in New Jersey. What will happen to the employees?

Sadly it's true. Nordstrom seems to not be able to handle certain stores (like the ones in Canada) so they think it's better to close them then continue to mismanage them. Those stores include the San Francisco ones. That's just sad.

I know they were cutting staff and reducing hours - some time ago work for Nordstrom's was prestigious and you would be able to work there all your life - not any more - times are changing and more and more people are shopping online

Seattle-based retailer Nordstrom is closing its store in MacArthur Center mall on April 5.

The sad news is the stores will officially shut their doors on Friday, April 5.

More online purchases, customer preference change. They like smaller stores now, Nordstrom will need to figure something new. They are laying off people, Nordstrom laid off IT people.

That's the rumor, I think I am 90% certain here.

That's what's the rumor - it kind of makes sense with the rents going through the roof nobody can afford so much space in West LA. We'll see how things play out, I am not sure if there was anyone who got insider info yet.

Seems another Nordstrom is abandoning its mall location, such a shame. They made a calculated decision with this closure and we have to live with it. The Mall at Partridge Creek will be left without this Nordstrom this fall.

The company appears to do well for itself lately. I am just questioning as to how long their luck will last. I am thinking that Nordstrom will face the same fate as other retailers sooner or later.

No wonder all of this is happening to Nordstrom. They lost their market sense long ago and they are now out of touch with customers and our needs. Shuttering popular and well-loved stores will not do them any good now.
