This is just a bummer. I am thankful my job is more secure because I don't know what I would do if I was in these people's shoes. 110 of them will face layoffs when Raleigh's North Hills JCPenney location closes on April 24.

I don't know when they are closing (or if they perhaps have closed already) but I just remembered reading somewhere that JCPenney will close their JC Penney store at Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream. Shame, since their parking space was excellent.

And so it ends: JCPenney will leave Raleigh, NC. Their North Hills store will be gone next year. This makes me feel melancholic, since it was open for half a century. Learning that it won't be open anymore feels like an end of a chapter in a book.

Truly heartbreaking. JCPenney has abandoned a location after nearly a century of being open - for ninety years they have been open in Benton Township and last month they have closed their Orchards Mall store.

I only have one fond memory after another when I remember this store in Brunswick, Georgia. Lovely merch and lovely people. Saying it was not the best JCPenney store is fair, I will allow that, but it is still not deserving of a closing.

A shame that the JCPenney in the Riverbirch Center Mall in Sanford, North Carolina is one of the stores that had to close this year, I consider it a great pity myself. But nothing that we can do about stuff like this, sadly.

We are going to have to start shopping in other towns. All the stores in Alexandria are leaving or moving out. We're thankful for a couple of good stores in Pineville. Sure miss Big K, tho.

Such a lovely store, I remember coming here as a kid and now my heart aches knowing that I won't be coming here anymore. JCPenney really is in the past now, but God help me if I don't remember them fondly!

What a tragedy, honestly. Not only has the Hamilton Mall fallen victim to the growing presence of online shopping, they have also lost another anchor store - JCPenney. One of my all-time favorite stores... gone.

Nobody would have even imagined that this situation with JCPenney could have happened a few decades ago. Oh how this retail giant has fallen from grace. This only shows that every company can go under at any moment.

If you are going to spread gossip about stores closing at least get the name of the city correct...it's not Pines Bluff, Arkansas it's Pine Bluff.

There are 7 JCP stores in SD. Four Will Close. Three will remain to operate. Stores in Mitchell, Pierre, Watertown and Yankton will begin liquidation in mid-April and will close in July or June.

The store is located in Cary Towne Center, and is expected to close on May 3.

JC Penney Home Store in the Westridge Shopping Center in Clive is closing, and the store is being consolidated. Not sure if any of the people will be laid off as part of this just yet.
