These were the best stores in town...
Baldwin Park on its way out
The store couldn't handle the competition anymore.
Not the best outcome
This wasn't the best outcome for the store and it wasn't the best outcome for the city either.
Bad situation all around
I wasn't its biggest fan but it always feels like losing a piece of our community when a store like this one shuts down.
Very sad end to a nice store
It's demoralising to see yet another good business succumb to economic pressures.
Closing... *sigh*
I wish upon a star that another store can fill the space, but it won't be the same.
No surprise here
Nobody gasped out in shock to hear this store being cut. Oh, and pun intended. I'm very clever.
Stockton
All Stockton stores have been struck from the record. They might as well never have existed.
Somebody think of them
The only one I feel bad for in this mess are the workers, nobody else. We will survive without 99 Cents but what about the workers? Will they survive without their jobs?
Dimmed the lights, closed the curtains
All signs lead us to think a closure happened and that's what actually did happen.
They've called a timeout for the day...
... and every other day for that matter. All the stores are now have ceased to exist.
The city never needed this store anyway
And there are better alternatives too
Under my nose, too
I lived my whole life without noticing this store existed or that it even closed. I lived under a rock, I suppose.
We can live without it
We'll survive without such a store like this one. Life goes on.
Such bad practices
Business school isn't like it used to be it seems because all of the stores closed.
Lake Elsinore
The store hung up its "closed" sign. The fate is set in stone.
Left and never looked back
They don't care how many of us they left bereft and without a store.
Everyone saw this coming
La Quinta especially was cruising for a bruising (closing).
Called it quits, huh?
If so, well... I never liked a quitter myself. Maybe this is for the best.
Never was a fan
I was never a fan but that doesn't mean I wanted this place dead! Far from it! I wanted it to improve and thrive! What a waste!
Last business hours
The hours are changed forever - they don't work here anymore at all
Katy will be (sorta) missed
Well, it will be missed by us who frequented this store! Which wasn't a lot of folks, now that I think about it...
Open for business... NOT!
The store is not available to us any longer!
Ghost town
They pulled down the shutters... and shuttered forever.
Finally closed
The financial issues were the final nail in the coffin. There was no coming back from this. Closed.
It seems they called it a day
Things have closed
Bye, I guess...
I can't even remember that it existed in the first place. It was a forgettable store.
Oh well
Call me old fashioned, but I never enjoyed stores like this one. I will never mourn it.
The writing was on the wall
It was difficult to make peace with the fact but this store was meant to close since basically forever.
Deep sigh...
Clearly this store could have never survived but it was still a shame that it closed.
Too bad
Hayward had one of the better stores
No theories here
This was a simple closure and nothing more
What do they call it?
The last curtain call? Yeah, that happened here.
Sometimes closings are better
I'm not saying closings are good but it was good that this sad store was put out of its misery
What a joke
The way the locations closed in Houston was embarrassing.
Pandemonium after it closed
It was pretty chaotic after they left
No room anymore here
No room for being open anymore
Everything has become dark
The stores are closing.
